Person Description
In January we got some disturbing news. Dad was very sick and after two weeks in the hospital we knew he had numerous illnesses to deal with. Lungs, Heart and Kidneys were compromised. He came home with oxygen and many medications. I thought, well Dad is a strong man.... one who could over come what ever god threw his way.

My dad was a retired Marine, he fought wars, defended our freedom for almost 21 years, loved and took care of his wife, and raised four strong, stubborn children. He was our Father, our childrens’ PawPaw and our grandchildren's great pawpaw. He was our Mother's ROCK, the Love of her Life, her Companion and her Friend. He was our HERO.

But the one thing he couldnt fight was his own body. We didnt know what the outcome would be but we had him home. He loved working, so he returned to work. He was not a man who could just SIT and watch the world go on without him. He probably returned to work too soon. Who is to say that he shouldn’t have gone back so soon, maybe Daddy knew that hat he HAD to return to his job just one more week.

Dad was very ill and things snowballed very quickly. His family was with him EVERY day. We laughed, we cried, we were with him until the end of his life. We told Daddy that we loved him and that we would take care of Momma if he was not there to do it. We honored Daddy with a Memorial on the following Saturday. Many tears were shared but so were many wonderful memories. We ask god why he took our Daddy away from us. But sometimes god has plans that we just do not understand.

I know that everyone loses important people in their lives, but we were NOT ready to let our Hero go. We have to take things one day at a time. We think of him daily.

We love him. We miss him. We honor him.

We try to go on with our lives without him. We know that daddy will be there waiting for us when our time comes. Daddy will be there with his strong hands to lead us to be with god.

Daddy, I know you miss being with us as much as we miss you. But believe that We will always honor your memory and will move on with on with our lives in a way that will make you proud.
I love you daddy.
